🌟 Collective Update – October 🌟
This month somehow felt like it flew by and lasted forever — but it’s been full of goodness for The Collective! All of our programs are back up and running, and it feels so good to be in the rhythm of serving, connecting, and showing up together.
I was reminded this week that when everyone does their part, the body (Church/our world) works best. When we use our gifts/talents and time to serve others, we bless our community and grow ourselves. I’m so grateful for all the amazing people who make this happen — and for those who read these updates and faithfully pray for us. 💛
🏡 Community Impact
Our annual Trunk or Treat was in Villa Park this month, a simple, joyful way to show up for our neighbors and provide free family fun! 🎃
🏫 School Impact
⚾️ Baseball Club was fantastic — four weeks of our volunteers teaching not just the fundamentals of the game, but also teamwork, sportsmanship, and confidence. On the final week, families came out to cheer on their kiddos during a big game, and it was such a sweet picture of community — laughter, encouragement, and proud parents lining the field. Moments like that remind us why showing up matters. ❤️
📚 Reading Buddies launched reading one-on-one or in classrooms each week — helping kids feel seen, supported, and capable.
👨👩👧👦 Family Impact
🔥 Our Spanish Family Nights continue to thrive! We had a Bonfire Night and Karaoke Nightfilled with laughter and connection.
✨ Alpha (A study about the basics of Christianity) launches soon for our Spanish-speaking parents — and their kiddos will be in Kids Club learning about Jesus too!
👕 A huge shoutout to our team helping prep for the Clothing Exchange, sorting and organizing donations to bless families this fall.
🙏 Prayer
There’s a lot changing in our world, and we’re navigating how best to serve our neighbors with wisdom and grace. We’d love your prayers for peace, safety, and guidance — and if you have time or talents/gifts to share, there’s always room for you on the team! 💛
