Family Dedications
Family Dedications are an opportunity for parents to publicly commit to raising their child in a home centered on Jesus. We believe in the saying “it takes a village” which is why we ask parents to also invite family and close friends to come alongside them in that commitment.
Our hope is to support you as you share your faith with your child—helping them come to know and love Jesus and grow in their understanding of His love and grace. Family Dedications also give our church community the opportunity to know and support the families of Parkview as we walk through life together.
Family Dedication is not baptism and does not make a decision of faith on behalf of your child. Instead, it is a commitment you are making as parents to create a home where your child can learn about Jesus and be encouraged toward a faith of their own.
What does Family Dedication include?
Family Dedication happens in two parts:
1. Family Dedication Service
On Saturday, parents and the people who will be closest to their child are invited to a special, intimate gathering. During this time, parents will make a commitment to raise their child in a Christian home and intentionally point them toward Jesus.
The gathering includes a short message, helpful resources for parents, and an opportunity to take a family photo together.
2. Celebration During Weekend Service
The following day, we’ll celebrate the dedication service as a church family and invite parents to attend one of our two Sunday services so our church can pray together for you. This is an opportunity for the wider Parkview church family to recognize your commitment and celebrate alongside you.
Ready to Dedicate Your Child?
We would love to celebrate this meaningful step with your family.
Our next Dedication service is Saturday, September 19.
