June has flown by! We spent months preparing for summer, and it’s hard to believe camp is over. It has been a full month of serving our community, building relationships, and sharing the love of Jesus.
Community Impact
Summer Camp has been the highlight of the month! We welcomed over 60 students and 20 incredible volunteers in Villa Park for weeks filled with creativity, learning, and fun. From electricity experiments and cooking to 3D printing and beautiful artwork, campers had the chance to discover new interests while making friends. We also played plenty of dodgeball, soccer, and other games, all while learning that Jesus loves us, wants a relationship with us, and gave us the Holy Spirit to be with us every day.
One of the greatest blessings of camp has been our volunteers. They have generously poured their time, energy, creativity, and love into making these weeks unforgettable for every student. Whether leading activities, encouraging campers, preparing supplies, or simply showing up with a smile each day, they have been the hands and feet of Jesus. We are incredibly thankful for each person who invested in our kids and helped create a place where they felt seen, valued, and loved.
- We had the opportunity to help host a Spanish drive-in movie night. Even though the rain changed our plans a bit, it was a wonderful evening for families to gather and enjoy time together in their own language.
- We rented the pool so our camp families could continue building friendships and connections outside of camp.
Family Impact
- Our Hispanic Family Picnic brought families together for food, fellowship, and encouragement. A local pastor shared how God is moving in our community, and families had the opportunity to learn about and sign up for ESL classes.
- We enjoyed a fun tie-dye night where everyone created colorful shirts.
- When the power unexpectedly went out one evening, we simply played games together in the dark—which turned into one of the most memorable nights!
- We partnered with another organization to take families to Topgolf, giving many the chance to play golf for the very first time.
School Impact
While school is out for the summer, we’re thankful for the relationships we’ve built with students and families throughout the year. Summer gives us a unique opportunity to continue investing in those connections through camp and family events, and we’re excited to see how God continues to work.
Thank you for praying, volunteering, and supporting this ministry. Please continue praying for our campers and families—that the seeds planted this summer would continue to grow and that they would experience the love of Jesus in lasting ways.
